At 5 years old, Chance knew he had a knack for piano and guitar. He had an ace in the hole as far as a teacher. His grandmother, Iva McFadden was an accomplished pianist, who performed for silent movies at the local movie house. His mother Patti was a remarkable singer who played guitar, uke, and accordian and performed with many country groups.. His dad Lyle, was the world renown air violinist "Maestro Mick" a legend in his own mind, sorry pops, you set that one up. Local talent shows had Chance running away with prizes and awards to the point some competitions were discontinued as they promotors already knew he would win. At 12, the Perez family from Adair, il. moved into town, and they became fast friends, and the first rock band was formed. The Perez family had talent beyond reproach. Little bro Jeff McFadden had a knack for piano and soon they dominated the area, A "chance encounter" with a local rock band of veteran 20-ish musicians, (the Vectors) Roger Vail, Pogo Hickman, Don Vance, and Fred Reynolds, opened the eyes of the McFadden and Perez boys of what the future could hold for them. Local Macomb, Il rock legends, The Younger Society with singer Skip Daniels was the highest paid bar/party band in the region, and found theirselves in need of the services of the McFadden Boys, who much to their surprize at their audition, the boys knew their entire songlist and arrangements. They were in. Now they had respect as musicians locally. Through the next few years and marriages and kids, they still performed together and separately in their own bands, They were a force to be reckoned with, to say the least, both individually and as a team. Jeff went on to the great jam session in the sky and Chance performed with his "Hollywood Nites" and family band Jodi McFadden Band, with his daughter Jodi as the star, son Mickey on drums, the extremely talented and missed daily Richie Noon, and Chance running the show. Eight years ago casino gigs and fairs started dry up and with Richie gone, the band lost momentum, he was family. At the time they stopped they were the highest paid regional music group in the Midwest.Chances side gigs with Baby Huey and the Babysitters, Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Ryders, and dozens of national acts with one nighters, made him a musical force to be reckoned with.
